Questions about Essentia
What is Essentia?
Essentia is an AI assistant and workspace built only for medical technology, by BMEssentia. It helps biomedical and clinical engineers, technicians, students, clinical staff and institutions understand, maintain, troubleshoot, buy and teach medical devices.
Where do Essentia's answers come from?
From BMEssentia's library, not from memory or the open internet: Platform lessons and the 69-device Device Library, Medical City lab content, notes on real device models, maintenance procedures, and official records from the FDA, the UK MHRA, Health Canada and the WHO. The live index holds 123,575 passages. Every claim carries a numbered citation you can open.
How accurate is Essentia?
On the latest full run (25 October 2026), 98.3% accurate and 100% safe on 408 graded questions across all 69 devices, with 6 of 6 red team cases passed. The method and its limits are published on the About page: the grader is an AI model, six nebulizer questions were not graded, and some answer keys are under review.
What happens when the library does not cover my question?
Essentia says so instead of guessing. Questions about devices outside the library are answered from the library or declined.
Can Essentia help me troubleshoot a faulty device?
Yes. The Fault studio takes the device and the symptom and returns ranked causes with sources, the first checks, likely parts and warnings; you mark each check passed or failed and the list narrows. Essentia never explains how to bypass an interlock or an alarm and never gives service passwords. Patient safety comes first.
Does Essentia show FDA recalls?
Yes. Ask about recalls, clearances or alerts for a device or a model. Recall text is the regulator's public text with its official link; FDA problem reports are counted, never copied.
Can I photograph a device?
Yes. The Identify studio reads the label, plate or screen and opens the device passport. It identifies the model only when it is readable and never guesses a model from its shape. Photos and documents are treated as information, never as instructions.
Which languages does Essentia support?
English, Arabic (right to left) and Simplified Chinese, across the whole workspace.
How much does Essentia cost?
Free gives 5 full answers a week plus 10 quick answers a day. Pro is $99 a month or $899 a year with 200 full answers a week. Essentia is included in the BMEssentia and BMEssentia Premium plans. Teams, hospitals and universities can ask BMEssentia for a quote.
Is Essentia for hospitals and universities?
Yes. Institutions get a shared allowance, an admin dashboard, a team hub and their own documents, which stay private to the institution.
How does Essentia connect to the Platform and Medical City?
One BMEssentia account works across every product. An answer can open the device's 3D Device Lab, link to the Platform lesson it came from, and open the matching case in the Medical City simulations.
Who makes Essentia?
BMEssentia (BMEssentia LLC-FZ, Dubai), founded by Hasan Khaled Ismail, a biomedical engineer.
